Rally for Medical Research 2013

On the morning of the Rally Hill Day, participants attended a breakfast briefing, which highlighted the key messaging points and included an overview of the materials to help prepare attendees for their congressional meetings. The program also included a “send-off” from the Honorable John Edward Porter, former member of the U.S. House of Representatives (R-IL) and current chair of Research!America. Mr. Porter was instrumental in doubling NIH’s budget from 1998-2003, when he served as chairman of the House Labor-HHS-Education Appropriations Subcommittee. After the breakfast training, the Hill Day participants gathered on the steps of the U.S. Capitol for a group picture holding the Rally for Medical Research banner.
Special thanks to the sponsoring organizations that provided their generous financial support for the Rally for Medical Research Hill Day 2013.
